Harry Potter Go game to hit China

Harry Potter Wizards Unite will hit China this year.

The game is developed by the same company that brought us Pokemon Go, and is taking the Augmented Reality (AR) experience to the far-east in the early part of this year.

The expectation is that Pokemon Go will launch before the new Potter game is released.

Niantic, the developers of the game, want to tap into the world’s largest mobile market by offering fans the chance to venture into their neighbourhood and come face to face with the monsters and magical creatures from the book series.

This includes players learning how to conduct spells and teaming up with other players to battle and defeat strong enemies.

Niantic Chief Executive said “The ‘muggle’ world and the wizarding world are only separated by this thin veil…. It’s very easy for us to imagine bringing that kind of magic into our everyday lives . . . It would be much harder to bring a convincing Star Wars game into AR in any way that is not just a gimmick.”

It was confirmed that after several Pokestops inside the Pokemon game were complained about that the company is now much more prepared to deal with any problems after running into many with the launch of Pokemon Go 2 years ago.

The game is set for release in the second half of 2018, giving its predecessor Pokemon Go the chance to succeed.
