New research released today by the Royal Yachting Association shows 83% of Brits say they spend too much free time indoors, and over half say they don’t do enough with their time outside the office.
The UK is an adventurer’s paradise, from the rolling hills of Surrey and the lofty mountains in the Highlands to ancient canals in London and the dramatic coastlines in Northern Ireland. However, nearly a third say they’re at a loose end as to how to fill their time outside of the office.
It may not come as a surprise that over a quarter say they consider spectator sports as their hobby, whether it’s plonked in front of the TV or chanting from the stands. Crafts such as jewellery making, stitching and knitting are favoured by 15% of the country.
So, Gerry & Dave wanted to make sense of all this and invited Ian Walker into the studio.
