A signal failure has caused commuter chaos this morning at Victoria Station.
Gatwick Express, Southern, and Thameslink routes have been suspended or significantly affected by the loss of signals on three different supplies around Streatham Common.
The failure was discovered last night, but had not been able to be alleviated by this morning, leaving hundreds of commuters marooned.
Reportedly working on the problems, Network Rail and Southern urged commuters simply “not to travel,” even on available transport options, which are overcrowded.
The delays are expected to last throughout the day, and could continue into tomorrow morning. In the meantime, buses are expected to be arranged to replace the failed rail service.
?? Passengers are advised not to travel into London this morning due to total loss of signalling power that Network Rail has experienced on 3 separate supplies in Streatham area.
