The Colour Purple: Wanbing Huang at LFW18

Wanbing Huang is back at London Fashion Week and this year, the designer has been inspired by the female body shape.

While last year saw glossy fabrics and midnight blue as the main colour of choice, the AW18 collection is all about the colour purple. Featuring eccentric pleated valances and silk textures, and earthy tones to complement the powerful purple hues.

Her representative said: “Wanbing’s new line is inspired by the seasons, and she’s used a lot of purple. It’s going to be the colour of 2018.”

Originally from China, Huang is a soon-to-be graduate student at the prestigious fashion university, Central Saint Martins. In addition to her LFW AW18 line, she is working on her graduate collection.

The representative added: “Wanbing’s graduate collection will look very different from her presentation at London Fashion Week. She will express herself, with massive installations. She’s also planning to retail her clothes in London once she’s graduated.”
