Why It Matters
Cereulide is a toxin produced by the Bacillus cereus bacteria, which can cause symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain. The toxin is heat stable, meaning it cannot be eliminated through cooking or preparation methods. Although no illnesses have been reported in connection with this product, the CFIA advises consumers to refrain from consuming, using, selling, serving, or distributing the recalled items.
