Bale stated, “I’ll be back in Chicago soon for Heat 2!” This marks the first public acknowledgment of his involvement in the project, which has generated significant excitement among fans of the original film.

The original Heat, released in 1995 and directed by Michael Mann, is regarded as a landmark film in the crime thriller genre, featuring iconic performances by Al Pacino and Robert De Niro.
