Hodgkisson underwent emergency surgery to remove a blood clot from her brain, and her journey to recovery has been both challenging and inspiring. She expressed her determination, stating, “I want to turn it into a positive and say ‘this is an awful thing that’s happened, but I have got better.'”
Hodgkisson reflected on her experience, saying, “I just couldn’t believe it; I had to walk again.” Her participation in the marathon serves as a testament to her resilience and strength.
Another notable runner is Rob Foreman, who plans to run the marathon in full firefighter kit to raise funds for charity. Foreman acknowledged the difficulty of the challenge, stating, “This challenge is definitely going to be one of the hardest I’ve done physically, so it’s going to be a case of being mentally strong and resilient.”
