Corey Parker Remembered for His Role in Will & Grace
“I cannot thank you enough for all the love and care,” said Corey Parker, reflecting on the support he received during his battle with cancer. Parker, who was known for his recurring role as Josh, one of Grace’s boyfriends in the beloved sitcom Will & Grace, passed away on March 5, 2026, in Memphis, Tennessee, at the age of 60.
Parker’s journey with cancer began after he underwent hip replacement surgery, which led to the diagnosis of advanced Stage 4 metastatic cancer. By November 2025, it was reported that 90 percent of his bones were affected by adenocarcinoma, a type of cancer that begins in glandular tissues. His health struggles were compounded by the effects of radiation treatment, which impacted his ability to speak and text.
Born into a family with a rich artistic background, Parker trained with teachers from the Actors Studio as a teenager and had his first uncredited role on the daytime show As the World Turns. He began his acting career in the mid-1980s and was also known for his role in the sitcom Flying Blind. Later in his career, he transitioned to working as an acting coach, where he was able to inspire and mentor a new generation of actors.
His family set up a GoFundMe campaign to assist with medical bills, aiming to raise $65,000. They successfully raised $59,000, which helped alleviate some of the financial burdens during his illness. Parker expressed gratitude for the support he received, stating, “Corey has a unique gift – he reminds us that we are enough. That we are worthy,” as noted by his students.
Despite his health challenges, Parker remained a beloved figure in the acting community. His family shared, “We love this man, this artist, this teacher. There is no one like him.” His mother, Rocky Parker, was also an actress and passed away in 2014, leaving behind a legacy of talent and dedication to the arts.
As fans and colleagues remember Corey Parker, his contributions to television and his impact as a teacher will continue to resonate. The heartfelt messages from his students and family highlight the profound influence he had on those around him.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding any upcoming tributes or memorials planned in his honor, but it is clear that Corey Parker’s legacy will endure through the lives he touched and the art he created.
