Ashley Roberts Takes on New Challenges in I’m a Celebrity… South Africa
Ashley Roberts, the 44-year-old pop star and radio DJ, is once again making headlines as she participates in the 2026 series of I’m a Celebrity… South Africa. Known for her time with the Pussycat Dolls and her vibrant career in radio, Roberts is diving into new challenges that have left her feeling “still traumatised” by the experience.
Having previously been a runner-up in the 2012 season of I’m a Celebrity in Australia, Roberts had initially refused to participate in the South Africa edition two years prior. However, the call to join this year proved irresistible. “When I got the call, I knew it was going to be nuts again, but what a beautiful gift the programme gave me and so I said ‘yes’,” she shared.
The challenges in this season have been notably intense, with cliff-edge jigsaw puzzles and high bridges pushing contestants to their limits. Roberts described the experience as everything being “more extreme, more dirty, bigger portions, like, nastier, smellier, just everything taken to the nth degree, times ten.”
Roberts, who joined Heart Radio in 2019 and has been a presenter for Heart 00s since 2022, is not just facing physical trials; she is also on a personal journey to prove herself. “There also comes a time when you want to challenge yourself a little bit, and I was like, ‘I’m going to prove myself, I can do some wild things,'” she explained.
Her return to reality television comes at a time when she is also promoting a new single and preparing for a world tour, showcasing her versatility as an artist. The Pussycat Dolls, with whom she reunited in 2019, have been a significant part of her career, but her evolution into radio and reality TV has broadened her appeal.
As the series progresses, fans are eager to see how Roberts navigates the trials ahead and whether she can overcome the fears that have haunted her since her last participation. Observers are keenly watching to see if she can emerge victorious once again, despite the psychological toll of the challenges.
Details remain unconfirmed about the specific trials she will face next, but one thing is clear: Ashley Roberts is ready to take on whatever comes her way in the wilds of South Africa.
