Business Insider to work with China-Britain Business Council on Scottish business awards

Scottish Business Insider has teamed up with China-Britain Business Council to give visibility to the China-Scotland Business Awards.

The previous China-Scotland Business Awards led to Scottish Business Insider creating a new segment dedicated to showcasing the trading links between businesses from the two countries.

Ken Symon, Editor, Scottish Business Insider, said: “We at Scottish Business Insider believe that there are major benefits to be gained from increased business and trading links between Scotland and China and so we are very happy to be the media partner for the China-Britain Business Council Awards 2019.

“There is a growing realisation within the Scottish business community of the range of sectors and businesses that can benefit from increasing trade links so this is something that can only increase in importance.”

The awards were set up by the China-Britain Business Council to acknowledge the effort made by Scottish businesses to forge trade links with China.

Last year’s six winners were celebrated for the hospitality displayed towards Chinese customers, making logistical changes to support business in China, providing resources in the healthcare sector, and for acting as a bridge between the two countries.

James Brodie, Regional Director – Scotland & Northern Ireland, China-Britain Business Council, said: “Delighted for the 2nd year running to have this opportunity to promote success stories of Scottish companies working with China, as well as welcome further Chinese investors into Scotland.

“There is fantastic momentum for the Chinese market in Scotland right now and I invite all relevant companies and educational organisations to submit an entry: we look forward in anticipation to reading your applications!”

This year, the number of categories has been cut down from six to four. The ceremony will award businesses for: Innovation in Education, Exporter to China of the Year, Chinese investor in Scotland of the Year, and China Welcome to Scotland.

The awards will take place on the 24th January at the Chinese Burns Supper.
