China and UK are promoters of globalism, says Chinese Ambassador

His article in the Telegraph comes after remarks made by US President Donald Trump who claimed that the US had “rebuilt China” and that it was time to rebuild the US in the same vein.
Xiaoming challenges the Western thought that “a strong country is bound to seek hegemony” and thus “China is bound to challenge and replace the US leadership”.
Instead, he states that China is pursuing a path of peaceful development which he claims is proven by history which is free of colonisation and war-mongering.
It is this long history, he claims, that will inform the Chinese approach to the current stand-off with America. Rather than responding with violence, Xiaoming believes that the way to solve the crisis with America is to cooperate with them.
“That is why China has responded to the US concerns over trade with the utmost patience and sincerity, and has insisted on addressing the disputes through dialogue and consultation,” he said.
The trade-war between the US and China is steadily growing more intense as each country imposes billions of dollars worth of taxes on imports.
Back in August, Donald Trump tweeted “Every country on earth wants to take wealth out of the U.S., always to our detriment.”
“I say, as they come, Tax them.”
And tax them, he did.
To date, the United States has imposed over $250 billion worth of taxes on Chinese goods. This covers pretty much everything from handbags to soybeans, to rice and to railway equipment.
Xiaoming closes the article by highlighting the initiatives introduced by China to aid in sustainable development and global peacekeeping.
“Where light inches forward, darkness retreats. As promoters and beneficiaries of globalisation, both China and the UK are against unilateralism and protectionism.
“The two countries should join hands with the international community to firmly safeguard the world economic order and multilateral trade regime, uphold international justice, and urge the US to rAJect the “zero-sum game” and stop bullying.”

Oh, and she also received her undergraduate degree in journalism from Goldsmiths and her postgraduate degree in intelligence and international security from King's College.
