Daisy Campbell transitions to fitness with Pontefract’s first reformer Pilates studio
Daisy Campbell, who spent 13 years captivating audiences as Amelia Spencer on Emmerdale, has made a bold leap into the world of fitness by opening Pontefract’s first reformer Pilates studio, That Pilates Place. After leaving the show in 2024, she decided to follow her passion for Pilates, combining it with her desire to create a welcoming space for the community.
At just 20 years old, Daisy completed a level three mat and reformer Pilates course. “It wasn’t my choice to leave Emmerdale and it was a shock at first,” she shared, reflecting on the end of her long-running role. But she quickly found purpose in her new venture, pouring her heart into every detail of the studio. “Every little detail is so special. So I would like to welcome you officially to Pontefract’s first reformer Pilates studio,” she said during the grand opening.
The journey to establish That Pilates Place was not without its challenges. Daisy undertook extensive renovations with her 80-year-old grandad, transforming an old crown court into a vibrant fitness space. The duo worked tirelessly, and their efforts culminated in a beautiful studio that reflects both their hard work and Daisy’s vision.
Since its opening, the studio has attracted attention — not just from locals but also from fans of Daisy’s previous work. Celebrity appearances have already been hinted at, adding an extra layer of excitement for those in Pontefract. As she marked six months in business this past April, it’s clear that Daisy’s new path is resonating well with the community.
Looking ahead, Daisy is set to make her next public appearance on a celebrity edition of The Chase, further bridging her past and present careers. While some may still associate her with soap operas, it seems she’s firmly planted in the fitness world now — and loving every minute of it.
As Daisy continues to build her brand in health and wellness, many are eager to see how this new chapter unfolds. With plans for more classes and community events on the horizon, she’s not just changing careers; she’s fostering a supportive environment for fitness enthusiasts in Pontefract.
