North Macedonia to Host Junior Eurovision 2026

North Macedonia is set to host the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026, marking the first time a Eurovision competition will be held in the country. This event is scheduled for March 7, 2026, and follows North Macedonia’s long-standing participation in the Junior Eurovision since its inception, having missed only three editions since 2003.

In the previous Junior Eurovision, Nela Mančeska scored an impressive 141 points, showcasing the country’s competitive spirit in the contest. The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has confirmed North Macedonia’s role as the host, a significant milestone for the nation.

San Marino’s Participation

In related news, Senhit will represent San Marino at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 alongside renowned artist Boy George. Senhit has a history with the contest, having previously represented San Marino in 2011 and 2021, making this her fourth appearance. San Marino has participated in Eurovision every year since 2008, with its best result being 19th place in 2019.

The final of the Dreaming San Marino Song Contest, which determined Senhit’s participation, took place at the Teatro Nuovo theatre in Dogana. Notably, the voting for this final was comprised of 100% jury voting, reflecting a shift in how results are determined in the contest.

UK’s Entry and Recent Trends

The UK entry for Eurovision 2026 is titled ‘Eins, Zwei, Drei’ by Look Mum No Computer. The UK has struggled in recent years, making the top 10 in the final only once in the last 16 years. Look Mum No Computer expressed concerns about the voting process, stating, “There’s a lot of stuff going on with the voting, a lot of favouritism and stuff.” This sentiment echoes ongoing discussions about transparency and fairness in the Eurovision voting system.

As the countdown to the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 continues, observers are keen to see how these developments will influence the competition landscape. Details remain unconfirmed regarding the full list of participants and any additional changes to the voting process.
