Incident of ‘concerted indiscipline’ resolved at Nottinghamshire prison
Serco, which runs the jail, said prison staff had taken action to resolve the incident which was contained to a single wing of HMP Lowdham Grange.
“There was no resistance from the prisoners and there were no injuries to prisoners or staff,” a spokesperson said.
“The incident involved a maximum of six prisoners and was contained to one wing of the prison.”
Lowdham Grange is a category B men’s jail with room for 888 prisoners.
The incident was said to have begun just before 6pm, and was resolved before 11pm. A Serco spokesperson added that the prisoners did not have any knives.
