New ITV Series ‘Gone’ Premieres March 2026

The highly anticipated ITV series titled ‘Gone’ is set to premiere on March 8, 2026, at 9 PM on ITV1 and ITVX. The show stars David Morrissey as headmaster Michael Polly, whose life is turned upside down when his wife, Sarah Polly, mysteriously disappears.

The series, which consists of six episodes, is written by George Kay and directed by Richard Laxton. It delves into themes of trauma, trust, and the legacy of elite institutions, offering viewers a chilling mystery that unfolds in the backdrop of Bristol.

Filming for ‘Gone’ took place in Bristol between March and July 2025, with the production supported by the Bristol Film Office. Laxton expressed his enthusiasm for filming in the city, stating, “It was great being back to film the city as itself this time.” Morrissey, who is relatively new to the area, added, “I’ve not been to Bristol much before, but I’ve loved being here.”

In addition to Morrissey, the cast includes Eve Myles as DS Annie Cassidy. Myles shared her initial reaction to the scripts, saying, “My first impression when I read the scripts was one of intrigue and excitement because of the family liaison side of it.” This focus on family dynamics is expected to play a crucial role in the narrative.

The series is inspired by the book ‘To Hunt a Killer’ and is partly influenced by the career of respected former Detective Superintendent for Gloucestershire Police, Julie Mackay. This connection to real-life investigative work adds an additional layer of depth to the storyline.

As the premiere date approaches, anticipation builds among viewers eager to see how the story of Michael Polly and the search for his wife unfolds. The chilling premise, combined with a talented cast and crew, positions ‘Gone’ as a must-watch series for drama enthusiasts.

Details remain unconfirmed about potential future seasons or additional story arcs, but for now, fans can look forward to the gripping mystery that ‘Gone’ promises to deliver on ITV.
