Jane Fallon Diagnosed with Breast Cancer: Early Detection and Upcoming Surgery
Jane Fallon Diagnosed with Breast Cancer
Jane Fallon, a best-selling novelist known for her works such as ‘Getting Rid Of Matthew’ and ‘Faking Friends’, has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The diagnosis was made after a routine mammogram conducted late last year, which revealed the cancer at a very early stage despite the absence of symptoms.
At 65 years old, Fallon expressed her gratitude for the early detection, stating, “About a month ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer – very early stage thankfully & the prognosis is excellent.” This highlights the critical role that mammograms play in detecting breast cancer that may be too small to feel or see.
Fallon, who has been in a relationship with comedian Ricky Gervais for over 44 years, mentioned that she is receiving “incredible care” during her treatment. She is scheduled to undergo surgery in the week following her announcement, indicating a proactive approach to her health. “It’s been a lot, I’m not going to lie. But, my surgery is scheduled for the week after next and I just want to get it over with now,” she added.
The couple met while studying at University College London in the early 1980s and have supported each other through various life challenges. Fallon has a significant following on social media, with 35.4k followers on Instagram, where she shares updates about her life and work.
In addition to her health journey, Fallon’s debut novel is currently being adapted for film, showcasing her continued influence in the literary world. As she navigates this personal health challenge, her fans and followers remain supportive, eager for updates on both her recovery and her literary projects.
As Jane Fallon prepares for surgery, the prognosis remains optimistic, and she continues to focus on her recovery. Details remain unconfirmed regarding the specifics of her treatment plan post-surgery, but her positive outlook and early detection provide hope for a successful outcome.
