Breaking Development
Jarell Quansah, currently playing for Bayer Leverkusen, is reportedly on Liverpool’s radar for a potential re-signing. The interest comes as Liverpool agreed to a £69 million buy-back clause when Quansah left the club.
Immediate Circumstances
Bayer Leverkusen paid around £35 million to secure Quansah’s services, and he has since made a significant impact, starting in 30 of his 34 appearances this season and registering four goals.
Quansah’s situation has sparked discussions about Liverpool’s transfer strategy, especially following the club’s previous decision not to pursue Marc Guehi. This has led to skepticism among analysts regarding the likelihood of Liverpool re-signing Quansah.
Stefan Borson, a football analyst, expressed doubt about the feasibility of such a deal, stating, “I think the surprising thing would be if they did that deal.” He further elaborated, “I find it very hard to believe that you would effectively pay the best part of €45m (£39m) to have loaned a player to another club for a year.”
Borson also mentioned that he has seen reports denying the validity of Liverpool’s interest, saying, “I think it has been denied by a couple of sources, so I’m not totally convinced that it’s a real report.” He concluded with, “I’d be very surprised if they do that deal, put it that way.” Details remain unconfirmed.
