John Lewis brings Moz the Monster to life in new Christmas advert
It’s that time of year, when the UK’s department stores roll out their magical holiday adverts. John Lewis’ contribution is as much a part of British Christmas as mince pies and Brussels sprouts. This year, creators have chosen their main character to be none other than Moz The Monster.
The advert also stars seven-year-old Joe, who discovers the cuddly monster underneath his bed. John Lewis has also continued its yearly tradition of featuring a modern artist’s song in the advert. This year, Manchester band Elbow has covered “Golden Slumbers” by The Beatles. Elbow follows previous contributors and big names such as Oasis, Keane, and John Lennon.
The internet’s response has ranged from disappointment to heart-warming delight, with #MoztheMonster collecting opinions across the board on Twitter. However, it seems most people were taken with the advert; the night light featured in the video has already sold out on the John Lewis website.
If you didn’t get your hand on the coveted light, don’t worry! You can still purchase items from the Moz The Monster collection, which includes a plush toy, slippers, and pyjamas.
