Key Trump aide Larry Kudlow suffers a heart attack
Minutes before his historic summit with Kim Jong Un was due to commence in Singapore, the US president tweeted that Larry Kudlow was being treated at a hospital in Washington DC.
Mr Kudlow is the White House’s economic adviser – and in recent days, made remarks that helped ratchet up tensions following the G7 summit.
After the president announced that he withdrawing from a joint communique on trade that was signed by top allies, Mr Kudlow claimed Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had “stabbed us in the back”.
White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders has said the 70-year-old is in a good condition, with doctors describing his heart attack as “very mild”.
Mr Kudlow, who was a long-time contributor to CNBC before taking up his current position, is expected to make a full recovery.
