The Duke of York has supported global entrepreneurs for the third year in a row at the Pitch@Palace Global event.
Pitch@Palace Global connects UK businesses with entrepreneurs from across the World to bolster economic cooperation. Since its creation four years ago, it has brought in nearly £900 million of economic activity, created 3669 jobs and connected the UK with 59 countries.
Three entrepreneurs of the year were announced at the event held at St James Palace across a range of industries. Logivan (industrial technology), Oncores Medical (Biotech and medical technology), and Matibabu (biotech and diagnostics)
However, the people’s choice of the year was Alwari which creates and publishes audio books of Arabic content which are then translated into multiple languages.
The event was attended by leaders in business, science, and technology – along with the Chinese Ambassador to the UK. After the pitches were made, Liu Xiaoming met with the Chinese entrepreneurs taking part in the event and The Duke of York.
According to the Chinese Embassy, the Duke of York told Xiaoming that “China’s science and technology industry is booming and the technology enterprises are full of vitality.”
It also says that the Pitch@Palace event series “will continue to focus on the Chinese market and help China’s small and medium-sized technology companies to grow and develop.”
In the summer, Pitch@Palace China took place to determine who would go on to the global championships in London. The theme for Chinese entrepreneurs was “The Future of Mobility and Connectivity” which could include robotics, big data, artificial intelligence, smart cities, and renewable technology.
The winners of this event were mostly focused on artificial intelligence but also focused on data management and education technology.
The three winners of the audience vote were China Craftmanship, Pony.AI, Yi Tunnel. The winner of the people’s choice award was Ruxi Technology.
