Lufthansa pilots are set to strike on April 13-14, 2026, leading to significant disruptions in air travel across Germany. The strike is expected to run from 12:01 am on Monday through to 11:59 pm on Tuesday, affecting not only Lufthansa but also its subsidiaries, including Lufthansa Cargo, Lufthansa Cityline, and Eurowings.

At Frankfurt Airport, nearly 75% of some 350 scheduled Lufthansa departures have been canceled, leaving thousands of passengers scrambling for alternative travel arrangements.

The Cockpit Union, representing the pilots, expressed frustration over the lack of progress in collective bargaining disputes, stating, “The Cockpit Union feels compelled to take this step after the employers showed no discernible willingness to reach a solution in several collective bargaining disputes,” according to union spokesperson Andreas Pinheiro.
Despite a deliberate decision not to take strike action over the Easter holidays, the union claims that no serious offers were forthcoming from the airline.
