The MOBO Awards, renowned as Europe’s largest and most influential celebration of Black music and culture, is set to mark a significant milestone in 2026. This year, the awards will take place on Thursday, March 26, at Manchester’s Co-op Live, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the MOBO Organisation. Established in 1996, the MOBO Awards have consistently championed the extraordinary breadth of talent within the Black music community, showcasing the evolution and impact of the genre over three decades.
As anticipation builds for the event, it has been announced that the awards will be live-streamed via Amazon Music UK’s official Twitch account starting at 8 PM. Additionally, an Access All Areas programme will be available on BBC One and iPlayer at 11:25 PM on Friday, March 27, allowing fans to engage with the event from the comfort of their homes. This accessibility reflects the MOBO Awards’ commitment to reaching a wider audience and celebrating the cultural significance of Black music.
This year, the awards will be co-hosted by the talented Eve and Eddie Kadi, both of whom expressed their excitement about being part of such a landmark event. “To be back for the second year in a row co-hosting the MOBO Awards is an honour, especially for its 30th anniversary,” Kadi stated, while Eve added, “I’m so excited to be co-hosting the MOBO Awards in this big 30th anniversary year.” Their enthusiasm sets the stage for a night filled with celebration and recognition of outstanding contributions to music.
The lineup of performers is nothing short of spectacular, featuring renowned artists such as Shenseea, Estelle, Slick Rick, Aitch, Myles Smith, Wiley, D Double E, Scorcher, Nolay, Chip, DJ Target, Olivia Dean, FLO, and Tiwa Savage. Each artist brings their unique style and energy, promising an unforgettable night of performances that will resonate with audiences both in-person and online.
Among the nominees, Little Simz, Olivia Dean, kwn, and Jim Legxacy stand out with four nominations each, showcasing their remarkable talent and influence in the industry. Additionally, Dayo Koleosho is nominated for best performance in a TV show/film category, further highlighting the diverse talents celebrated at the MOBO Awards.
One of the evening’s highlights will be the presentation of a lifetime achievement award to Slick Rick, a legendary figure in hip-hop. Known for his iconic track “La-Di-da-Di,” which holds the title of the most sampled hip-hop track of all time, Slick Rick’s contributions to music are immeasurable. His career began in the Bronx after moving from London at the age of 11, and his album “The Great Adventures of Slick Rick” includes the beloved track “Children’s Story.” This recognition not only honors his legacy but also serves as an inspiration for emerging artists.
