New Hybrid Technology
“Some customers think that driving an SUV is not as pleasant as a hatch or a wagon. [Such] propositions have a better balance between driveability, efficiency and space,” said Frank Marotte, Dacia’s sales boss, highlighting the brand’s commitment to enhancing the driving experience with the new Striker.
The Striker will feature the most fuel-efficient version running the Hybrid 155 system, which combines a 1.8-litre petrol engine with a 49bhp electric motor, yielding 153bhp and 170Nm of torque. Additionally, Dacia is rolling out a new hybrid four-wheel drive system called Hybrid 150, integrating a mild-hybrid setup with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission and an extra rear electric motor.
Design and Features
Designed to be more satisfying to drive than its predecessor, the Bigster, the Striker is expected to be longer, measuring 4.65 meters. It will also feature a full-length glass roof and a familiar steering wheel design, appealing to a broad range of customers.
Dacia is positioning the Striker as an “unexpected and dynamic crossover,” aiming to capture a larger share of the mid-size car market. The company plans to grow its mid-size car sales from one-fifth to one-third of its total volume.
Pricing and Availability
The Striker is expected to start from around £25,000 in the UK, with a starting price below €25,000 in Europe, approximately £21.6k. This competitive pricing strategy is part of Dacia’s broader plan to launch four new all-electric models by 2030, including a compact city car.
Dacia has begun to carve out a credible presence in the C-segment, with deliveries of the Bigster starting in July 2025. Dacia will hope the attractive Striker has the appeal to make an impact here – and everywhere else.
