Turkish Airlines Reports Record Profits in 2025
Turkish Airlines has announced a remarkable profit of US$2.2 billion from its main operations for the year 2025. This achievement comes amid a challenging operating environment marked by various geopolitical and commercial uncertainties.
The airline’s total revenues for 2025 surpassed US$24 billion, reflecting a robust performance in both passenger and cargo segments. Notably, passenger revenues rose by 7.4% during the year, contributing significantly to the overall financial success.
In terms of operational metrics, Turkish Airlines achieved record results, serving 92.6 million passengers and transporting 2.2 million tonnes of cargo. The airline also expanded its fleet by 5%, bringing the total number of aircraft to 516.
Despite a global trade slowdown that affected cargo yields, the airline reported cargo revenue of US$3.4 billion. This resilience in the cargo sector highlights Turkish Airlines’ ability to navigate through challenging market conditions.
The company’s EBITDAR margin reached 23.7% in 2025, showcasing strong operational efficiency. Looking ahead, Turkish Airlines anticipates its EBITDAR margin for 2026 to remain within the 22–24% range, indicating a stable outlook.
Prof. Ahmet Bolat, the airline’s executive, commented on the results, stating, “Despite an exceptionally challenging and unpredictable operating environment, the financial success we achieved in 2025 once again showed our ability to adapt to rapidly changing commercial and geopolitical conditions.”
Historically, Turkish Airlines has faced aircraft delivery delays and capacity constraints due to grounded aircraft, alongside regional conflicts that have impacted operations. These factors have added complexity to the airline’s operational landscape.
As the airline prepares for 2026, recent tensions in the Gulf region are causing uncertainties. Details remain unconfirmed regarding how these geopolitical issues may affect future operations and financial performance.
Overall, Turkish Airlines’ performance in 2025 stands as a testament to its resilience and adaptability in a fluctuating global environment.
