AccuWeather Partners with Samsung TV Plus

“Together with Samsung we will advance our mission to save even more lives, prevent injuries and protect more property from hazardous weather,” stated Steven R. Smith, a representative from AccuWeather, highlighting the company’s commitment to enhancing public safety through improved weather forecasting.

On March 6, 2026, AccuWeather NOW became available on Samsung TV Plus in the United States, featuring 24 hours of continuous weather programming. This partnership aims to provide better access to forecasts and warnings, especially as severe weather conditions are anticipated across the central U.S.

As the day approached, severe thunderstorms were expected to sweep across the Plains states to the Ozarks and Midwest, with more than 7 million Americans at the highest risk of severe weather. The forecast indicated that temperatures could soar 20-30 degrees above average in parts of the southern U.S. by the weekend, creating a volatile weather environment.

Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt expressed concern for those affected by the storms, stating, “I am praying for the family as they grieve this tragic loss, as well as all those impacted by the storms.” His remarks come amid rising fears as the spring storm season begins, with many residents bracing for potential tornadoes.

Melissa Mayes, a meteorologist, noted, “This is probably our first real event this season where people are really starting to pay attention getting into the spring storm season.” This statement underscores the heightened awareness and preparedness among communities as they face the impending weather challenges.

In addition to thunderstorms, a storm system is forecast to bring disruptive snow and ice to parts of the Midwest and Northeast in the following week. Areas such as North and South Dakota could see between 3-6 inches of snow, while certain regions may experience 1-3 inches. New York City is expected to reach 50 degrees Fahrenheit on Saturday, further emphasizing the unpredictable nature of the upcoming weather.

Details remain unconfirmed regarding the exact track and intensity of the upcoming storm next week, but the collaboration between AccuWeather and Samsung TV Plus aims to ensure that viewers receive timely and accurate information during this critical period.
