Anthea Turner’s health tips on Drivetime with Chris

TV Presenter & fitness guru Anthea Turner joined Chris on Drivetime for his weekly health clinic. She knows a lot about Chinese medicine and has been visiting a Chinese doctor for 30 years for alternative medicines. Anthea has also recently been diagnosed with osteopenia which is the precursor to the bone breaking Osteoporosis.

Osteoporosis, the medical condition in which bones become brittle and fragile, affects over 3 million people in the UK, with 500,000 people a year receiving hospital treatment for fragility fractures due to the condition. 50% of woman aged 50 or over will suffer from a bone fracture due to Osteoporosis, as will 20% of men, yet many will have no idea they have it until they break a bone numerous times.

Anthea Turner is raising awareness for the condition after a chance bone scan classed her as high risk for osteoporosis of the spine. Having undergone a DEXA scan, TV personality Anthea Turner was surprised to find out that she was suffering from osteopenia. As a result she is now embarking on a campaign to highlight the risks of developing the conditions as one ages, particularly women.

Anthea’s initiative is in conjunction with bone-health brand LithoLexal and will also offer helpful tips and advice about protecting and rebuilding healthy bones, through lifestyle changes.
