Channel 4’s Extensive Coverage of the 2026 Winter Paralympics

Channel 4 has been designated as the exclusive broadcaster for the 2026 Winter Paralympics, which will take place in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy. The opening ceremony is set for March 6, 2026, while wheelchair curling events will commence two days earlier, on March 4, 2026.

This year marks the 50th edition of the Winter Paralympics, featuring a total of 79 medal events across six different sports. Channel 4 is committed to providing more than 60 hours of live coverage, with broadcasts beginning daily at around 7.50 a.m. GMT.

Highlighting Social Impact Through Television

In addition to its sports coverage, Channel 4 is also airing the show “Get a House for Free,” hosted by Marco Robinson. This program focuses on providing homes to families facing homelessness, showcasing the transformative impact of stable housing.

Participants like Holly Robinson have described receiving a house as life-changing. “When Marco gave me the house, I couldn’t believe it. I just want to thank him for giving me a new life,” she stated. Jo Morris, who suffers from 90 percent blindness, also received assistance with her housing deposit from Robinson, expressing gratitude for the unexpected support.

The Mohammed Family, who fled Syria, were helped by Robinson to secure both housing and asylum after paying £20,000 to a human trafficker to escape their war-torn country. They shared their hope, stating, “If you are thinking of giving up, don’t. Life can change.”

Robinson emphasizes the importance of stable housing, stating, “If someone has a safe place to live, everything else becomes possible — work, education, family and rebuilding confidence.” This sentiment underscores the broader social mission of Channel 4’s programming beyond sports.

As the 2026 Winter Paralympics approach, viewers can expect a blend of thrilling sports coverage and poignant stories of resilience and hope from Channel 4. Details remain unconfirmed regarding any additional programming or special features that may be introduced leading up to the event.
