“I thought something happened to my account lol as I could see people’s posts but then when I clicked on the posts it says nothing to show here yet,”
Reports of issues began flooding in around 3:25 AM EDT, with more than 19,000 users turning to DownDetector to voice their frustrations. The outage was not limited to a specific region; users across the United States, the United Kingdom, and other areas reported problems accessing the X app and timeline.
In the United States alone, approximately 31,600 reports were logged, with 41% of users indicating they could not access the app at all. Meanwhile, 6% of users experienced difficulties with the X website.
Another user expressed their frustration succinctly: “Here we go again!” This sentiment resonated with many, as X has faced major outages in the past, including a notable incident in March 2025 that saw over 1.6 million reports.
As the morning progressed, the number of reports continued to climb, reaching around 10,000 by 7:15 AM. Users took to other platforms to share their experiences, with one stating, “Twitter is down again for like the fifth time this month or something. I guess this is what happens when you fire all of your engineers.”
Some users reported specific issues, such as being unable to upload graphics or access unsent and scheduled posts. “Have not been able to upload any graphics for about an hour. Cannot access ‘unsent posts’ or scheduled posts. It does not matter if it is a JPEG or a GIF,” another user noted, highlighting the operational challenges many faced during the outage.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding the cause of the disruption, and no official statement has been issued about when services will be restored. As users await clarity, the incident raises ongoing concerns about the platform’s reliability and the impact of previous staffing changes on its operational stability.
