ITV has officially commissioned a new travel series featuring the beloved duo Gary Barlow and Jason Manford, titled ‘Gary Barlow’s Food & Wine Tour: New Zealand’. This exciting venture will consist of six episodes, each lasting 30 minutes, showcasing the stunning landscapes and rich culinary culture of New Zealand.

The series, produced by Rock Oyster Media in collaboration with Tourism New Zealand and Great Rail Journeys, promises to deliver a delightful blend of adventure and humor. Activities planned for the series include tandem biking and even rescuing penguins, ensuring that viewers are in for a treat.

David Nottage, the executive producer, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Gary is a much-loved, charismatic and inquisitive traveller. Pair him with his mate Jason Manford and belly laughs and high adrenaline are guaranteed!” This partnership is expected to resonate well with audiences, especially given their previous successful collaborations.

This new series follows Gary Barlow’s earlier travel shows set in South Africa and Australia, which collectively reached an impressive audience of five million viewers. The anticipation surrounding this latest project is palpable, as fans eagerly await the duo’s unique take on New Zealand’s vibrant culture.

Leanne Clarke, the Assistant Commissioner for Entertainment and Daytime at ITV, played a crucial role in commissioning the series, further highlighting the network’s commitment to producing engaging travel content.

Dave Riley from Great Rail Journeys added, “Great Rail Journeys has always believed that the most powerful travel stories come to life when you create genuine moments of connection – between people, cultures and landscapes.” This philosophy will undoubtedly shine through in the series as Barlow and Manford explore the heart of New Zealand.

As the series gears up for production, fans are left wondering what other surprises await them. Details remain unconfirmed, but the excitement is building for what promises to be a memorable journey.
