New Expansion Set to Launch
Mega Evolution—Chaos Rising will be available at participating retailers worldwide beginning May 22, 2026. This highly anticipated expansion features Mega Greninja ex as its headline card, which is expected to see competitive play and significant collector interest.
The expansion includes five Mega Evolution Pokémon ex, alongside 11 illustration rare Pokémon and 18 ultra rare Pokémon and Trainer cards. Additionally, players can access Mega Evolution—Chaos Rising in Pokémon TCG Live starting May 21, 2026.
Prerelease Tournaments Scheduled
Prerelease tournaments for the set will take place from May 9 to May 17, 2026, providing players with an opportunity to experience the new cards ahead of the official launch. The set is the fourth in the English Mega Evolution era and draws inspiration from Japan’s Ninja Spinner release.
The Pokémon Company stated, “Chaos Rising brings the chaos and yes, Mega Greninja ex is at the forefront of this expansion with brilliant artwork and powerful gameplay mechanics that will reshape competitive strategy.” This statement highlights the excitement surrounding the new cards and their potential impact on gameplay.
What to Expect
In addition to the Mega Evolution Pokémon, the set will include special illustration rare Pokémon and Supporter cards, further enhancing the variety available to players and collectors. Chaos Rising is the third Pokémon TCG set to be released in 2026, following the successful launches of previous expansions.
